We are all very keen on discovering new tastes from vanilla ice-cream to chocolate chip cookies. It's in our nature. M&M's would not settle for just any type of chocolate, and the company has over 1,000 tastes to try. The same goes for soda drink giants such as Coca-Cola and Pepsi. You don’t get to drink the caffeinated drinks in their traditional form. No, you have a variety to choose from, and that variety spans many potential flavors, from lime to orange, to grape, and many more. In fact, not all flavors are available everywhere around the world, and this just reflects that inventing flavors is a very personal thing indeed. Palettes differ, and that is why people enjoy food differently in different countries and even make trips to other countries to taste how people cook there. 1. Advances of Culinary
The first and self-explanatory reason for us having so many new flavors is that the culinary industry has advanced and has advanced a fair bit. Today, we are not just putting things in the oven, hoping they would cook properly.
We know the actual chemical reaction that transpires within the oven and can adjust our cooking in a way that allows us to preserve the best food qualities without under-cooking a meal. Well, inventing flavors is sort of like this. We know that we can achieve a much better flavor by manipulating food, or if not a better one – at least a new one. As you know, taste is a very subjective thing, and we may all have very different preferences in the end.
